Colors, colors and even more colors!

We now know that colors are important, but how important is this really and does this really influence the choices that people make? The answer is yes. A survey by WebpageFX shows that nearly 85% of consumers say that color is the main reason to buy a product.

Each color evokes a different association among consumers. Strong feelings are associated with the color red: love, passion, fervor and anger. (VrijdagOnline, 2015). Your appetite is also stimulated by red. If you wondered why the McDonalds logo is red, now you know! Furthermore, rebellion and tension are also associated with the color red. If you want to persuade people to undertake an exciting activity, the use of the color red is a good choice.

The color blue is associated with reliability and authority. That is why the color blue is often used by captains. Blue is an excellent color if you want to come across as serious, businesslike and reliable. It is, therefore, a color that is often used by law firms and tax advisers (Friday online, 2015).

The color orange in your logo works in the way that people take action. This is because orange is a cheerful color and it makes people enthusiastic about it. Orange is therefore very suitable as a button for a call-to-action since people are encouraged to click on the button.

Green is associated with health. It is the easiest color for the eyes to process and is often used to relax in moments of stress. The color green is often used in health care and leisure activities.

Purple has a calming effect and regularly appears in beauty or anti-aging products. It is also associated with creativity and fantasy.
